soul-searching and news from the other side
Kickstarter is a website that allows entrepreneurs, artists or anyone with a creative idea raise money from people like you and me. The FlyKly Smart Wheel project opened for funding on October 16, 2013, and two days later, it has already exceeded it’s goal of $100,000.
The smart wheel allows users to “move through busy city streets in no time and spare your energy… It fits practically any bicycle frame and helps you use your bike more efficiently and comfortably, when and where you need it.” Essentially the smart wheel is a ‘pedal assist’ that kicks in when you start pedaling and accelerates to your set speed (on the FlyKly smartphone app). It stops when you stop, has a GPS tracker in case your bike gets stolen and the app even allows you to lock the motor remotely.
